Privacy policy
The short version
- We collect only what we need to take your order, build your app and answer you.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't show you third-party ads.
- If you came from one of our Facebook or Instagram ads, we tell Meta when you sign up or publish an app, so we know which ads work. You can turn this off.
- Your card details go to Stripe. We never see them.
- You can ask us to show or delete what we hold about you. Email hello@wavemagicwand.com.
What we collect
- Support form: your name, email address and message. It arrives as an email to our support inbox.
- Orders: when you buy, Stripe collects your payment details and email address and gives us your name, email and what you bought. We never see your card number.
- Your account: your email address, so you can sign in with a one-time code. We don't use passwords.
- Your idea and your app: what you tell us about the app you want, your projects, and the photos you upload, so we can build your app and look after it. Anything typed into a preview can be seen by our staff and by anyone you share the preview link with, so use made-up details there.
- Your app's data: once your app is live, the records it holds are yours. Our staff can't read them unless you give a named person access from your app's settings; every look is logged and shown to you. The only exception is an emergency (abuse, a legal order or safety), which is logged with the reason and emailed to you at once.
- Where you came from: we note how you found us (for example an ad you clicked) to learn what works. We honour "do not sell or share" browser signals.
- Our ads on Facebook and Instagram: if you came from one of our ads there, we tell Meta when you sign up and when you publish an app. We send a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address and the ad-click ids Meta gave your browser. Nothing else: no app content, no payment details. Our home page may also run Meta's Pixel, which counts the visit and sets a Meta cookie. None of this happens if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, if you turn it off with Your privacy choices, or if you are in the EU, the UK or Switzerland.
- Technical logs: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps basic logs (such as IP address and browser) for security and reliability.
Who else sees it
- Stripe processes payments.
- Cloudflare hosts this site and handles our email.
- Google provides Analytics.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) runs our ads and receives the sign-up and publish details described above. Under US state privacy laws this can count as "sharing" for advertising, so you can opt out. Meta's own policy covers what it does with them: facebook.com/privacy/policy.
- Anthropic provides the AI that plans and builds your app, so it processes what you type into the builder. We use their paid business service, not a consumer account.
- We share information with others only if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.
How long we keep it
We keep order records as long as the law and our accounting require. We keep support emails and your idea details while you are a customer and for a reasonable time after, then delete them. Ask us sooner if you want them gone.
Your choices
- Ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it: hello@wavemagicwand.com. We will reply within 30 days.
- Don't share my information with ad companies: use "Your privacy choices" at the bottom of any Magic Wand page, turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser, or email hello@wavemagicwand.com. We will stop telling Meta about you.
- Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser and we will honour it.
- Block or clear cookies in your browser at any time.
Who it is for
Magic Wand is for adults in the United States. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell customers by email if the change matters to them.
